“Xin Chao! Excuse me, I was wondering… is it possible to get a lime shake to drink by the pool?” I ask Duc, the front desk manager.
“Why not?” Duc answers, with a smile.
And with that simple answer, I feel a wave of joy wash over me, as cool and refreshing as the pool water I just got out of a few minutes ago.
“Cam an” I say, with what must be a horrible accent, but Duc smiles at me, happy at my happiness. Definitely a Yellow Goldfish moment at Pomelo Gardens, Phu Quoc!
And with that, I decide that ״Why not?” will be my catch phrase for 2020.
“You’ll be the coolest teacher,” says Karen.
“Why not?” I reply.
